Terms & policies
Patient policies & website terms
Clear policies help us give every patient the time and care they deserve. If you have any questions, please call us at (303) 652-0736.
Effective November 1, 2026
Appointments & cancellations
When you book an appointment, that time is reserved just for you, and new patient visits can last several hours. If you can’t make it, please let us know as early as possible so we can offer the time to another patient.
- Initial (new patient) appointments: please cancel or reschedule at least 72 hours in advance. Barring emergencies, missed initial appointments that aren’t cancelled 72 hours in advance are charged in full.
- Return appointments: please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. Missed return appointments without 24 hours’ notice may be charged.
- Late arrivals: if you arrive late, we’ll do our best to see you, but your visit may need to be shortened so other patients aren’t kept waiting, and the full visit fee applies.
- New patient forms: please complete your New Patient Questionnaire before your first visit. Download the forms.
To cancel or reschedule, call (303) 652-0736. If we don’t answer, please leave a voicemail; the time of your message counts as your notice.
Payment & insurance
- Payment is due in full at the time of service. We accept cash, check and all major credit cards.
- Niwot Natural Medicine isn’t affiliated with, and doesn’t bill, any insurance company. If you’d like to seek reimbursement from your insurer, we can provide a receipt or year-end statement on request; reimbursement isn’t guaranteed.
- Acupuncture is generally an allowable Health Savings Account (HSA) expense. Please check with your HSA or tax advisor about what’s covered or deductible for you.
- Herbs, supplements and lab tests recommended during a visit are priced separately from the visit fee.
Apothecary purchases
For your safety, opened supplements, herbs, homeopathics and other health products can’t be returned. Unopened products in their original condition may be returned within 14 days with a receipt. If a product arrives damaged or you have a reaction, please let us know right away.
Children & minors
Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who must consent to treatment. We don’t give vitamin injections to anyone under 13.
In the clinic
- Fragrance-free: please don’t wear perfume, cologne or other fragranced products to the clinic. Some of our patients have chemical sensitivities.
- Illness: if you have a fever or a contagious illness, please call before coming in so we can decide together how best to care for you.
- Respect: we’re committed to a calm, respectful space for patients and staff, and we ask the same of everyone who visits.
Phone, email & emergencies
Niwot Natural Medicine doesn’t provide emergency care. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Phone and email are best for scheduling and general questions. Regular email isn’t a secure way to send health information, so please don’t include medical details in emails or in our online forms; we’ll discuss your health by phone or in person. Messages are answered during business hours.
